League of Women Voters Questionnaire 2021

Question 1:  What two issues affect your precinct the most and how would you address them?

The chief lesson these last five years have taught, particularly under COVID’s scourge, is the importance of responsible, inclusive, caring and competent government. I support Brookline”s refusal to consider either long term or current issues in isolation. Quality public services are not separated from the diversity of providers, working towards “Green” Brookline doesn’t mean neglecting our elderly or very young. North Brookline is overwhelmed by “gut and rehabs” bringing engaged parents yet little truly “affordable” housing. A special taxing mechanism for development’s “fair share” must be established where their profit provides compensation for increased services: help schools and public health.
